<p>PURPOSE:To provide a production method of offensive odor-free ethanol so designed that, when hydrous ethanol is to be concentrated and purified using propane, propylene or butane as extraction solvent, the odor components in this solvent is eliminated. CONSTITUTION:When highly concentrated ethanol is to be obtained by extracting hydrous ethanol using a gaseous solvent (propane, propylene or butane) close to the critical point, this gaseous solvent is, in advance, brought into contact with NaOH or ethanol to eliminate the odor components in the gas.</p> |
