PURPOSE:To prevent surface flaws such as cracks due to final calking by giving a temporary calking in advance to the extent that cracks are not generated on surface treatment parts through the calking at the time of planting meshing teeth on a fastener tape. CONSTITUTION:A wire rod W having a nearly Y-shaped cross section is intermittently fed and is successively cut, in a prescribed thickness and in the direction orthogonally crossed, by means of a cutting die 3 and a cutting punch 10. This is a method for forming meshing teeth for slide fasteners in which after a high part is formed on the engaging head, the individual meshing teeth E are collected. Following this forming for the high part, a nearly V-shaped attaching leg part L, L are temporarily calked in advance to the extent that cracks are not generated on the surface treatment parts through the calking at the time of planting the meshing teeth on the fastener tape. Thus, the deformation of the leg part is reduced at the time of final calking, surface flaws such as cracks are reduced, and the alignment of meshing teeth becomes highly orderly. |
