The invention relates to the preparation of novel triazolyl quinoline derivatives of the formula I and acid addition salts thereof [see Swedish original for formula I] wherein R1 is hydrogen, methyl, trihalogenmethyl or carboxy, R2 is hydrogen, halogen, C1-4 alkyl, hydroxy, C1- 4 alkoxy, amino, acetamino, C1-4 dialkylamino, acetyl, carboxy, ethoxycarbonyl, nitro or trihalogenmethyl, R3 is hydrogen, C1-4 alkyl or C1-4 alkoxy, R4 is hydrogen, methyl or ethyl and X is a valency bond or -S- with the proviso that R4 is not methyl when R1, R2 and R3 are simultaneously hydrogen. The compounds have an analgesic effect.
