PURPOSE: To provide a catheter to inhibit leakage generated by improper seal on body tissue. CONSTITUTION: A needle 25 can be disassembled and the material of its catheter is formed of extremely hydrophilic polymer. Immediately after removing the needle 15, the catheter 20 is brought in touch with water and other water solution, for instance blood or medicated medicine liquid in vein, to be expanded. When the catheter is expanded, the outer diameter 24 of the catheter tube seals a tube in body tissue to inhibit leakage from the body tissue around the tube. Further, the inner diameter 22 of the catheter tube is expanded to allow a higher infusion flow rate of intravenous liquid into a body. |
