PURPOSE: To obtain a polyurethane composition for manufacturing of a catheter with comparatively high elasticity and excellent kink restoration performance by making a sufficient quantity of halogenated sites in the polymer structure of polyurethane for manufacturing of a catheter to make the product catheter be radiopaque. CONSTITUTION: To manufacture a catheter 15 with radiopacity and about 85% of kink resistance, a king resistant catheter is formed by polyurethane made contain a sufficient quantity of halogen containing sites in the polymer structure. In radiopaque polyurethane consisting of a reaction product of halogenated trans-cycloaliphatic diisocyanate, and a diol selected from a group of low molecular weight diols, high molecular weight diols, and a mixture of those, at least one of diisocyanate and diols is halogenated and a sufficient quantity is made exist to make the product polyurethane be radiopaque and make to have kink resistance about 85%. |
