PURPOSE:To simplify mounting structure of PTC element and improve sealing property by fixing, through a conductive adhesive layer, a plate PTC element to the bottom part of a facing can on which a sealing body is mounted. CONSTITUTION:A sealing body 7 consisting of stainless is airtightly mounted on the opening part of a bottomed cylindrical facing can 1 by laser seam welding. A laminated electrode body 2 is received in the facing can 1, and a disc PTC element 13 is fixed to the bottom part outer surface through a conductive adhesive layer 14a. A stainless terminal plate 15 is adhered to the bottom surface of the element 13 through the same adhesive 14b, and covered and protected by a thermally contracting facing coat resin tube 17 together with the can 1 through a protective ring 16. When an abnormal current is carried to raise the temperature in the battery, it is rapidly transmitted to the PTC element, a resistance is sharply enhanced to limit the current, and an excessive heating can be suppressed. |
