PURPOSE:To improve the press fit dimensional accuracy by measuring press fit dimension at the same time with the press fit for a press fit work by tentatively press fitting the press fit work into a body subjected to press fit by a predetermined dimension by setting both a linear gauge and a load meter to zero point. CONSTITUTION:A ball screw shaft is lowered by a servo motor and a press fit work 8 is tentatively press fit into a body subjected to press fit 20 by a predetermined dimension; and both a linear gauge 35 in contact with a length measuring device 36 and a load meter provided on a probe to be measured, which moves together with the press fit work 8 for measuring the press fit load for said work 8, are set to zero. Moreover, the press fit work 8 is press fit into the body subjected to press fit by the predetermined dimension; and if the measured values by the linear gauge 35 and the load meter upon completion of the press fit are predetermined values, then the press fit dimension after the process of the regular dimensional press fit is performed to obtain a press fit dimension equal to the difference between the press fit target dimension for predetermined press fit work 8 and actual press fit dimension. If an indicated value is not equal to the predetermined value, then the press fit work 8 is returned upward by the total dimension of the tentative press fit dimension plus the regular press fit dimension, and it is necessary to check by the linear gauge 35 whether the press fit dimension of the press fit work 8 is equal to the press fit target dimension. |
