PURPOSE:To provide a power supply device whose input current is of less distortion. CONSTITUTION:An arrangement according to the present invention comprises a rectifier device 1 to rectify the AC supply voltage, an inverter 3 to be fed with the output from the rectifier 1, a DC power supply which is installed in series to the rectifier output and supplies the inverter with the sum of the output voltage the rectifier 1 and the DC voltage, and a filter device 6 which is installed on the input or output side of the rectifier 1. The DC power supply should meet the condition 0.3A>=B, where A is the wave-height of the current waveform fed to the inverter 3, and B is wave-height of current supplied from the DC power supply, and at the same time, the filter device 6 should characteristically be effective at least for the seventh order higher harmonics of the frequency from the AC power supply 2. |
