PURPOSE:To provide the distance information output device of a camera which can output a correct absolute distance whether a lens barrel is exchanged or not even in the case of an interchangeable lens system camera. CONSTITUTION:A switch 6a detecting that the interchangeable lens barrel is loaded in a camera main body, a motor 9 driven in response to the opening and the closing of the switch 6a, a control means 8 moving a photographing lens to a reference position, an up-down counter 15 detecting the moving quantity of the photographing lens from the reference position by counting a pulse signal and a reset means resetting the counted value of the counter 15 when the photographing lens arrives at the reference position are provided. Then, when the lens barrel is exchanged, the photographing lens is driven to the reference position and the counted value using the absolute distance for calculation is reset. |
