The lock for securing shopping trolleys includes a body within which there are two levers (14) which can be pivoted by the introduction of a coin (13). This displaces their free ends in order to withdraw two slides (17) which then free the inserted tongue (10) which is held within the lock. Two further pivoting plates (19) within the lock turn about vertical axes in order to exert a force to eject the coin when the lock is in the required state. ADVANTAGE - The lock has a simple mechanism and is made of aluminium resisting forcing; the lever minimises friction.
