PURPOSE:To suppress the deterioration due to harmonic distortion and RIN caused by multiple reflection between connectors in an optical transmission line by decreasing chirping of a laser diode through addition of a small scale circuit and providing an optical transmitter without chirping. CONSTITUTION:The optical transmitter applying intensity modulation to an optical signal with an input electric signal is provided with a light intensity modulation circuit 1 applying intensity modulation to the output of a laser diode 7 with an input electric signal, an integration circuit 13 having the function integrating the input electric signal and inverting the polarity and an optical phase modulation circuit 12 applying optical phase modulation to the optical signal with an output of the integration circuit 13 and the optical intensity modulation circuit 1 and the optical phase modulation circuit 12 are connected in cascade. |
