<p>PURPOSE:To artificially represent the unevenness, quality, suitability, etc., of the surface of a body that a man feels when touching the body with hands or fingers without touching the actual body. CONSTITUTION:A tactile representation unit 2 whose representation element 2a is exposed is provided on the surface of a holder 1 that the operator can slide along a support surface 6, a slide detector 3 which detects the slide of the holder 1 is provided on the holder 1 or on the side of the support surface 6 where the holder 1 is slid, and an artificial tactile signal generating device 4 is connected to the tactile representation unit 2. This artificial tactile signal generating device 4 supplies a signal corresponding to the space-time pattern of a sensation that the operator has when touching the surface of the object body to the tactile representation unit 2, so that a tactile stimulus is artificially represented by the representation element 2a.</p> |
