PURPOSE:To efficiently remove the memory effect of a photosensitive drum for a transfer material with different quality. CONSTITUTION:A transfer electrifier 5b is arranged inside a transfer drum 5 which is opposite the photosensitive drum 1. An auxiliary electrifier 8 is arranged downstream from this. When positive charges are injected from the transfer electrifier 5b to transfer negative toner on the photosensitive drum 1 to a transfer material P, the positive memory effect is produced on the photosensitive drum 1, especially in the part corresponding to the end of the transfer material P. This memory effect is removed by the auxiliary electrifier 8; however, since this varies with the thickness of the transfer material P, quality such as a type, and a transfer-electrification current, it is removed after a voltage is adjusted by a control means 8a based on them. Thus, the memory is efficiently removed without impairing cleaning performance. |
