<p>PURPOSE:To easily detect the vicinity of the end of a tape and to facilitate the fast forwarding and rewinding by measuring a ratio of a reel rotating period on the take-up side to that on the supply side. CONSTITUTION:At the time of rewinding(REW), the tape is taken up by the supply reel 1, while the tape is supplied to the take-up reel 2. At this time, rotating periods of the reels 1 and 2 are measured by a supply reel sensor 3 and a take-up reel sensor 4, and a ratio of them is calculated by a microprocessor (microcomputer) 5, and a reel ratio at the REW starting time is stored here. Then, for example, the period of the supply reel 1 is small at the end of the tape, while the period of the take-up reel 2 is large, and this is reverse at the beginning of the tape. The end of the tape is detected by a sensor 7 at the REW time, whereas since it is possible that the tape is cut without stopping it even when its end is detected under fast REW as it is, the speed is slowed down in the midst of fast REW to be shifted to low REW. By this method, even in the case of nonstandard tape, the vicinity of the end of the tape can be found. The same is the case with fast forwarding.</p> |
