PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in image quality by filtering a complete still signal, letting the complete still signal pass only when it is considered that the pattern is actually standstill and performing more accurate motion detection concerning to the motion detection circuit in a MUSE signal. CONSTITUTION:A filter 15 receiving a signal carrying motion information in a control signal detected by a control signal detection circuit 14 has a characteristic that a complete still signal is passed only when the signal is sent consecutively over several fields in the case that the motion information is completely still and let the signal pass as it is in the case that the motion information is other than completely still. The output of the filter 15 is inputted to a motion detection control signal generating circuit 16, which outputs a signal controlling the output of 1-frame, 2-frame difference detection circuits. |
