PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for directing the writing position from the copying machine even though the writing position is different by language or the like when writing characters after the display of messages in the state display device for guidance display of the copying machines or the like. CONSTITUTION:The dot pattern of normal character is stored in a CGROM 6 and the pattern of nonstandard character is stored in a ROM 3. In a CGRAM 7, the dot pattern of the nonstandard character is copied from the ROM 3. When the command received by an MPU 1 is a message display command, an LCD controller 4 selects the message corresponding to message codes from the CGROM 6 or from the CGRAM 7 and writes it on the display buffer in the LCD controller 4 to be displayed on an LCD display 5. When the received command is a character display command, the character code is written in the display buffer based on the attribute information of the message which has been displayed last. |
