PURPOSE:To improve working efficiency by carrying out image formation in which running cost is automatically reduced by means of a simple operation, and to reduce the power consumption of a device by changing the fixing temperature witout depending on a service man. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with an ADF 200 with a sensor which detects a document size, a document type (both-side document and one-side document); a consol panel 300 on which an energy-saving key is disposed; a high voltage power source 407 which impresses a development bias; an AC driver 408 which drives a fixing heater and various motors; a push switch 409 which detects the size of a sheet of recording paper; a ROM 402; and a CPU 401 which, when energy-saving mode is set, restricts the running cost by automatically setting image density low, etc., and performs image formation in which power consumption is restricted by setting temperature for fixing low. |
