PURPOSE:To improve the operation rate and the utilizing performance of a copying machine by using a heating means for a full color copying mode in common when a heating means for a black-and-white copying mode can not be used. CONSTITUTION:In the case a temperature-rise time is longer than a set time, it is judged that a heater lamp 34 is burnt out, and then whether fixing in a full color mode is possible or fixing in a black-and-white mode is possible is judged. In the case of judging that the fixing in the full color mode is possible, full color copying can be performed as it is. However, the fixing of black- and-white copying is possible even by the fixing part for the full color copying because of the material of the surface of a fixing roller, so that a CPU 61 controls the fixing roller and a suction unit, etc., in order to perform the black- and-white copying when the black-and-white copying is required. Namely, when the heater lamp 34 for the black-and-white copying is burnt out, the fixing part for the full color copying is used in common until exchanging the heater lamp 34 which can not be used. |
