<p>PURPOSE:To always enable stable running by selecting 0.2-3.0mum height of peaks for the magnetic tape guide surface of a magnetic tape guide drum or guide pin. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic tape guide surface 11 of a magnetic guide body 7, that is, a guide drum or guide pin is roughened so as to regulate the height (delta) of peaks to 0.2-3.0mum and to allow the pitch (x) between peaks to satisfy an inequality 0.50mm<=x<=(329delta)<1/4>mm. By such structure, excellent running property can be ensured even for a metallic thin film magnetic tape having satisfactory surface properties at high humidity since the formation of a layer 19 of molecules of absorbed water blocking the coupling of the magnetic tape with the guide body can be effectively avoided by considering the pitch (x) as well as the surface roughness of the guide body.</p> |
