<p>PURPOSE:To stabilize electrification property, to give fluidity and to improve durability of a toner by incorporating titanium oxide the surface of which is treated with a silane compd. having specified physical properties. CONSTITUTION:This toner contains titanium oxide the surface of which is treated with a silane compd. having >=1000cs viscosity at 25 deg.C after surface treatment. If a silane compd. having <=1000cs viscosity at 25 deg.C is used, the obtd. titanium oxide has low frictional resistance, so that the toner with addition of this titanium oxide has low duraiblity. If a silane compd. having <1000cs viscosity at 25 deg.C after hardening by heat treatment is used, the frictional resistance is low and the obtd. toner has low durability. The titanium oxide is treated by dispersing titanium oxide in water mechanically to obtain primary particles, and then treating the particles with the silane compd. The silane compd. used is a silane coupling agent, silicone oil, etc.</p> |
