METHOD AN APPARATUS FOR TERMINATING ROUND SHIELDED CABLE

PURPOSE:To improve the productivity by simplifying the productivity by simplifying the conventional manual method for the termination of a round shielded cable. CONSTITUTION:The title method is for terminating a round shielded cable obtained by shielding a plurality of signal lines in a bundle with a netty shielding material and thereafter covering it with an insulating sheathing layer. A cut of a depth not exceeding the thickness of the insulating sheathing layer 1c is made on the circumference of the round shielded cable in a position a specified distance away from the end of the cable. The portion of the insulating sheathing layer 1c between the cut and the cable end is moved to the cable end side to the extent that the distance of the movement does not exceed that between the cable end and the specified position; the insulating sheath layer 1c is thereby cut. The moved insulating sheathing layer 1c' on the cable end side is returned close to the original position. The shielding material 1b is carried together with the insulating sheathing layer 1c' and swollen out to form a brim 1b''. The circumference of the brim 1b'' is cut, and thereafter the cut insulating sheathing layer 1c' is pulled out together with the residual portion of the shielding material 1b.
