摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce a feeling of unnaturalness in musical performance expression due to a difference in selection system between the attenuated sound system and sustained sound system of a multitimbre electronic musical instrument by applying the selection system of a musical tone generation channel based upon a remaining sound generation quantity or the time of remaining sound generation continuance matching the attenuated sound system even to the sustained sound system. CONSTITUTION:The assignor of this electronic musical instrument calculates the remaining sound generation quantity of the musical sound of each of musical tone generation channels, placed in a sound generation state by a musical tone generating circuit 26, or a value corresponding to the remaining sound generation quantity. This remaining sound generation quantity can be calculated from the product of the envelope level of the musical tone and the time of sound generation continuance, the product of the result and a specific coefficient, or the remaining area of a part of an envelope waveform before sound generation. The selecting method using the remaining sound generation quantity and the time of sound generation continuance is applicable to both the attenuated sound source and sustained sound system, so this can be applied to the multitimbre electronic musical instrument.
