<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the active matrix type liquid crystal display device for preventing an orientation failure of a liquid crystal, and improving a display picture quality without deteriorating an opening rate. CONSTITUTION:The device is constituted by laminating transparent substrates 11 and 12 by inserting and holding a liquid crystal layer, arranging a scanning line 1 and a signal line 2 like a matrix on the liquid crystal layer side of the transparent substrate 11, providing a switching element 4 in each intersection thereof, connecting a transparent electrode to the switching element 4, providing a black matrix 5 in other position than the transparent electrode on the liquid crystal layer side of the transparent substrate 12, providing a magnetic thin film 6 in the scanning line 1, the signal line 2 and the black matrix 5, generating a magnetic field in the vertical direction in the end part of a picture element electrode 3, and reducing the influence of a magnetic field exerted on the horizontal direction. Accordingly, an orientation failure of a liquid crystal is eliminated, and the display quality is improved.</p> |
