<p>PURPOSE: To reduce bit errors at the time of reading a self-clocking graphic mark code at the time of encoding digital information enabling mechanical reading on a hard copy recording medium. CONSTITUTION: Graphic marks (g1 , g2 , g3 , and g4 ) of a self-clocking graphic mark code for encoding multi bit digital values with (n) bit length are preliminarily sequenced in a cyclic sequence based on analytically or empirically decided probability of mutual mixing so as to be adjacent to two graphic codes with which the graphic code is the most likely to be mixed in the cyclic sequence while each graphic code is encoded. Then, a binary encoded value is assigned to the sequenced graphic codes according to the order of gray codes with the (n) bit length, and as a result, the value assigned to all the applied graphic codes is different from a value assigned to the graphic code with which each graphic code is the most likely to be mixed only by one bit position.</p> |
