摘要	PURPOSE:To provide the divided image pickup type image reader which can easily adjust the angle of view in the case of reading operations. CONSTITUTION:One end of a hanging mechanism 2 is fixed to an image processor 6 and the other end is provided with a movable read head 1. The hanging mechanism 2 is provided with a free mechanism including horizontal rotary shafts 3 and 4 and a vertical rotary shaft 5. Further, the horizontal rotary shafts 3 and 4 of the hanging mechanism 2 are provided with a rotation detector so that the angle of the movable read head 1 can be detected. The image processor 6 performs geometrical correction to the divided images from the angle data and distance data detected by an automatic focusing mechanism mounted on the movable read head 1, and obtains one read image by applying bond processing to the respective divided images.
