The lifting frame is formed by a central arm (1) with a central suspension loop or hook (2) and a fastening ring (3) at each end. The rings each receive a vertical shaft (4) which has a projecting back-supporting half-frame (7) at its mid-point and a seat half-frame (6) at its lower end. The upper end of each shaft includes a handle portion (5) which allows rotation of the shaft relative to the arm to bring the half-frame portions into engagement with each other. A collar (3') towards the upper end of each shaft bears against the upper edge of the arm ring into which the shaft is inserted. ADVANTAGE - Rapid positioning below patient, reducing stress and discomfort in lifting operation.
