The cardboard cigarette packet (2) has on one face one or several adhesive zones (10) allowing the packet and match box (15) to be fastened together by simple pressure. The adhesive zone is formed from bands on the surface of the packet and match box, each having a surface layer of synthetic glue (11). The glue layer is protected before use by a pre-cut-out paper tab (12) which can be peeled to uncover the band. The adhesive zone can be on any face of the packet body (3), or on the pivoting cover (4). ADVANTAGE - Does not require any complexity in the cigarette packet packaging and is cheap to provide.
