<p>PURPOSE:To provide an electrophotographic toner without developing unpleasant odor, capable of being fixed with low energy and without contaminating a picture due to offset. CONSTITUTION:This toner consists essentially of a resin grain and a colorant. In this case, the resin grain is obtained by the dispersion polymerization using at least one kind among thioglycerin, thioglycolic acid and thioglycolic ester as a chain transfer agent. The chain transfer agent is added when the conversion of the resin grain proceeds 15% complete. Consequently, a toner capable of being fixed with low energy is obtained while keeping a sharp grain diameter distribution. Meanwhile, since the chain transfer agent is added when the conversion efficiency exceeds 15%, the decrease in the gel component is suppressed, and the toner without generating offset is obtained.</p> |
