PURPOSE:To output a result at least as desired by an user from a printer by detecting the functional state of the printer, converting information for specifying expression in document information to be printed corresponding to one piece of functional information selected from the plural kinds of prestored functional information of the printer and outputting it to the printer. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 2 controls the entire printer and a program memory PMEM 3 extends a program executed by the CPU 2. Then, when a printing instruction is received from an operator, the main body of the device transmits the transmission request signal of vector data to the printer 8 before transmitting printing data to the printer 8. When the request signal is received, corresponding to coat information stored in the PMEM 3, the printer 8 aquires vector data information and processes it into the appropriate vector data information to be transferred from a communication control part 5 and a communication port 6 through a communication channel 7 to the main body of the device. Then the vector information is obtained and the printing processing is performed. |
