PURPOSE:To minimize the voltage reduction in discharge initial stage and prevent the operation impossibility and erroneous operation of a using equipment by mixing a lithium compound to the positive electrode active material of a lithium battery using a CuO-P2O5 compound as the positive electrode active material. CONSTITUTION:In a lithium battery using a Cu0-P2O5 compound as a positive electrode active material, a lithium-contained material as a negative electrode active material, and an organic electrolyte, a lithium compound such as lithium hydroxide and lithium nitrate is mixed to the positive electrode active material in an amount of about 0.03-0.2 moles per mole of the CuO-P2O5 compound. Thus, the lithium concentration near the positive electrode surface is enhanced, lithium ion is easy to diffuse at discharge reaction, and voltage reduction in discharge initial stage is prevented or moderated. As the electrolyte of the organic electrolyte, LiCF3SO3 is given, and as its solvent, propylene carbonate is given. |
