Torque sensor e.g. for power measurement of rotary machine - has stationary sensor and/or dynamic torque control mechanism coupled to hollow torsion casing

The torque sensor incudes a stationary sensor for detecting axial displacement e.g. of an axial force, and/or a stationary dynamic torque control mechanism coupled to the axially displaceable centre section (3) of a hollow torsion casing (1). Two lateral parts are joined to the centre section via inclined braces (5) to form a radial angular pivotal motion to displacement converter. The inclination angle (alpha) of the braces' (5) longitudinal axes w.r.t. the longitudinal axis (o) of the torsion casing (1) lies between +/- 70 and +/- 90 deg. The positive or negative sensor of the inclination angle depends on the orientation of the brace w.r.t. the centre section of the torsion casing. USE/ADVANTAGE - For testing and long-term measurements. Can operate in non-rotating torsion bars, esp. shafts, and in shafts rotating at any speed.
