The apparatus has a cylindrical plastic casing with a metal sieve mounted above a conducting ring on the base, there being a plastic annular spacer between sieve and ring. The article whose surface is to be coated rests on the ring. A DC voltage is applied between the sieve as cathode and ring as anode. Above the sieve is a plastic lid with bellows open to the underside. These are oscillated by a control unit so that the air below is agitated, thus improving the even distribution of the powder coat. ADVANTAGE - Simple, inexpensive and environmentally friendly means of creating uniform coating in single process.
