The capacitor is built into a rectangular housing with a safety device which isolates the capacitor from an external circuit when the pressure in the housing rises by breaking a metal conductor at a preferred breakage point. The conductor is held between two parts near the breakage point. One part is attached to a pressure sensitive drive element. A signal source (10) is also activated by the drive element (4), which consists of a membrane welded or soldered into the capacitor housing. ADVANTAGE - Enables state of pressure increase and isolation from external circuit to be indicated.
