The hydraulic pilot type direction control valve has a block (39) defining a hydraulic pilot operation section (32), and one or more pilot hydraulic chamber (40,41) in this block. Spools (37,38) are provided for introducing oil into the pilot chambers, and a drain passage (54) is provided near the pilot chambers in the block. Narrow passages allows for air bleeding between the drain passage and the pilot chambers. The bleeder passages may be defined between the threads of holes formed in the pilot block (39) and the threads (52,53) of adapter (50,51) mounting screws that are fitted in these holes or may be separately formed passages in the block.
