The fluid pressure operated switch has an upper assembly that has a piston unit subjected to fluid pressure which causes a transmission element (60) with a roller to apply a force to a pivot (11) mounted lever (14). The lever is coupled to a movable contact carrier (10) and has a spring coupling to a fixed point at one end (21) and a spring coupling to the contact carrier (20). The contact carrier supports contact elements (7) on pillars and these contacts are positioned relative to fixed contacts (4) in the base. A central load spring (59) controls the displacement.
