In a plug for connecting a cable (1) of a high-voltage power supply system to a socket (2) in the external cone system having an insulator (9) which forms an internal cone widening towards its free end, arranged concentrically to a pin (5), to accept the conical part (2') of the socket (2), consists of an elastically deformable material and is arranged in a dimensionally stable housing accepting the insulator (9), the part of the insulator (9) forming the internal cone is a form fit in the housing (24), at least in the region of its free end section in the longitudinal direction of the internal cone.
