The central hand rail (5) secures the fractured metacarpal bone (1) by active fixator pins (11), while a finger rail (6) secures the base phalanx with such pins. In the region of the base finger joint (2) is a length equalising hinge (4,7,8). The finger motion is possible only orthogonally to the hand palm surface. The hinge consists of two hinge levers, the first one (7) pivoted at one end on the central hand rail, while the second one (8) pivots at one end on the finger rail in a plane towards the palm surface. The other lever ends are pivotally interconnected. USE/ADVANTAGE - Splint for fractures near finger and wrist joints, with dynamic connection of fractures and stiffness prevention.
