The method is for the opening of bodies (2) contg. explosive material and involves the use of a compressed water jet (8) with integrated mineral and/or metallic grinding particles at a temp. of 8-20 deg.C and at a pressure of 100-700 bars via a nozzle (1) for cutting the body, maintaining a relative movement between the nozzle and the body. The body is cut with the water jet (8) from the outside to the inside. The body (2) is cut down to a very thin residual wall thickness (10) and for final sepn. of the body shearing or bending forces are applied. USE/ADVANTAGE - To destroy munitions contg. explosive material. The method is without danger in opening bodies contg. explosive material.
