<p>Spoke-shooting-out devices 2 are disposed adjacent the flanges 10a, 10b of a wheel hub 1, facing spoke holes 11, 12 in these flanges. Each device has an elongate spoke receiving groove or passage 3 in which a spoke is inserted. The groove or passage is axially aligned with a nozzle N and also one of the flange spoke holes. Closure means in the form of a shutter 30 closes the groove or passage 3 and air under pressure is admitted to the rear thereof via an air outlet 31. The pressure of this air causes the spoke to shoot out of the device via the nozzle N into the facing spoke hole in the flange. A micro processor, responsive to inputs from various sensors S1-S5, controls the sequence of events and provides for cyclic operation. Embodiments of the invention incorporate a rotating cylinder 7x, 7y having concentrically disposed passages or grooves into which spokes are successively loaded and from which spokes are simultaneously discharged into the spoke holes in the flanges of the hub.</p> |
