In an electric lamp, the contact tabs (56) have angled eye parts (55) which rest on the end surface (49) of the base insulator (48) remote from the bulb; the end (61) of the contact tabs at the bulb end overhangs on the end surface (59) of the base insulator on the bulb side, where it is bent and rests in the region of inclines (60) in a clamping manner on the end surface (59) of the base insulator on the bulb side.
