<p>Apparatus for forming weldless edges on polygonal sheet metal articles such as a flush-mounted sink comprising a base (10) on which is fixed at least one beam (14). Plates (16,18) and (20,22) bearing the dies (26,28,30,32) are fixed to the ends of the beams (14). The dies comprise counter-dies (54) and slides (58,60,62) moved by hydraulic or compressed air cylinders (26',28',30',32') which operate on the vertices of a steel sink (34) and on extensions (34') of which the opposing ends of the major or minor sides thereof are provided. The slides operate on the extensions (34') and, by means of successive bending operations, bring near and fasten them to the adjacent edge band, realizing constraint of the edge of the article without welding. The beams (14) can run along guides (12) made in the base depending on the dimensions of the sink (34). <IMAGE></p> |
