The method for producing an electron beam-exciting fluorescent material is characterized by (a) homogeneously mixing a low velocity electron beam-exciting fluorescent material with a potassium silicate soln. and a pure water for 1-3 hr, (b) stirring the mixture by adding the pure water and a nitric acid soln., (c) removing the supernatant, and washing the precipitate many times and drying it. The method prevents luminance deterioration.
