PURPOSE:To provide a new compd. based on a tetragonal R-Fe-B compd., further contg. a substd. or modifying component and useful as a compd. forming a magnetic material and a permanent magnet material, etc. CONSTITUTION:This compd. is a tetragonal R(Fe, Co)B compd. contg. R (R is one or more kinds of rare earth elements including Y), Fe, Co and B as essential components and having a tetragonal system crystal structure with about 12Angstrom lattice constant c0 or a tetragonal R (Fe, Co)BA or RFeBA compd. (A is one or more among Ti, Ni, Bi, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, Mn, Al, Sb, Ge, Sn, Zr, Hf, Cu, S, C, Ca, Mg, Si, 0 and P). When these tetragonal compds. are isolated from each other by a nonmagneitc intermetallic compd. phase, the ideal fine structure of a permanent magnet is formed. |
