PURPOSE:To eliminate efficiently in a short time an org. solvent contained in an extraction residue which cannot be taken out of an extraction apparatus because of a trouble of the apparatus, etc. CONSTITUTION:An operation of bringing an extraction residue remaining in an oil or fat extraction apparatus and contg. an org. solvent into contact with an oil or fat and then taking out the oil or fat of the apparatus is repeated until the concn. of the solvent vapor in the atmosphere in the apparatus becomes lower than the lower limit of ignition.
