PURPOSE:To obtain an artificial leather with high strength excellent in uniformity and highly excellent in hand feeling and to provide its production. CONSTITUTION:A sheet is formed from splittable fibers having 20mm or longer fiber length by paper making method and treated its surface with a column stream to interlace the splittable fibers and to split them at the same time, to three dimensionally interlace 0.8 or less denier fine fibers and/or fine fiber bundles. To the obtained non-woven fabric, 1-50% (based on the non woven fabric) elastic polymer is added. As this is excellent in surface hand feeling with its fine surface, especially excellent in uniformity and flexibility and further excellent in strength characteristics, it is suitable for a wide variety of artificial leathers such as shoes materials, bags, sacks and chair covers, etc. |
