PURPOSE:To provide an ink jet recording paper with which color mixing and oozing hardly occurs and an image with excellent clarity of color development and resolution and high quality can be obtd. even when a multi-color ink jet recording with high speed and high density is performed and a method for ink jet recording using the recording paper. CONSTITUTION:A recording paper prepd. by applying a very little amt. of a coating contg. a white pigment with a specified BET specific surface area on at least one face of a base sheet with a specified apparant density, and the ink absorbing vol. V of the recording paper in terms of the Bristol method satisfies an equation of correlation: V=2ax<2>/(0.0254)<2> (wherein a means the amt. of ink drops extruded from a nozzle and x means resolution) related with the shortest distance between nozzles for different ink colors in a multi-color ink jet printer and a time T=L/S determined by a relative transfer speed S of the recording paper/the head, and a method for recording using this recording paper, are provided. |
