PURPOSE:To provide an ink holding member used in the supply of ink to a printing head. CONSTITUTION:In the ink holding member composed of urethane foam inserted in an ink supply container, the urethane foam has a volume swelling ratio of 5-60% with respect to ink. Even when the urethane foam whose volume is slightly smaller than the inner volume of the container is inserted, the urethane foam is swollen by the ink when the container is filled with the ink and the container is uniformly filled with the urethane foam. Therefore, even when the container is shaken, the ink in the container can be always discharged from a discharge port by constant quantity without being sloshed. |
