PURPOSE:To obtain a high-purity carbapenem derivative useful for infectious diseases, having excellent antimicrobial properties and stability simply and efficiently by reacting a specific azetidine derivative with a specific organic phosphorus compound. CONSTITUTION:The compound of formula I [R<1> is lower alkyl or (protected) hydroxy lower alkyl; R<2> is H or protected carboxyl; R<3> is H, lower alkyl, etc.; R<4> is H, lower alkyl, (protected) hydroxyl, etc.; R<5> is H, lower alkyl, (protected) hydroxyl, halogen, 67 etc.; R<6> and R<7> are H, lower alkyl, etc.; Z is CH2, O, S, NHCO, etc.; m and n are 0-4] is reacted with a compound of formula II (R<8> is alkoxy, aryloxy, dialkylamino) in an aprotic solvent such as benzene at 80-150 deg.C for 3-50 hours to give the objective derivative of formula III. |
