IMPROVED LOOP FORMATION IN PRESSED FABRIC WITH ON-MACHINE SEAM USED WITH SPECIAL THREAD

PURPOSE: To provide an open-ended press fabric which has a good intermeshing property during forming and joining loops, a good compression property and a greater degree of resiliency in the machine direction. CONSTITUTION: This open-ended press fabric comprises a system of machine- direction(MD) yarns and a system of cross-machine direction (CD) yarns. The system of machine-direction(MD) yarns extends for the length of the open-ended press fabric, and has a sleeve-like coating to form a monofilament-like strand containing a core. The core comprises a synthetic polymer resin. The composite yarns form the loops along the two widthwise edges of the open-ended press fabric to facilitate the intermeshing of the loops, when the two widthwise edges are brought together to form the pin seam.
