PURPOSE: To make a conical apparatus applicable to centering holes of different diameters by constituting its external member as segments independent of one another, and causing the internal member to hold each segment by a spring. CONSTITUTION: The external extensible member of a conical apparatus is composed of segments 23 independent of one another perfectly. When a car tire is pressed to a touching surface 18, and the segments 23 move sliding on the conical external surface 21 by their conical internal surfaces 22, the segments 23 move toward the radial-direction outside in parallel to themselves their cylindrical external surfaces 14 touch the internal surface of the centering hole of a tire. A rubber ring 25 is arranged in the circumferential grooves 24 of the segments 23, and holds the segments 23 with the internal surfaces 22 touching the external surface 21. In addition, an annular part 20 has a flange 26 and it is joined to the inward flanges 27 of the segments 23 to control the axial movement of the segments 23. Pins 28 are thrusted into the segments 23, and joined to the inside of long holes 29 in an internal member 11 being more inside in the radial direction, and the segments 23 are fixed at peripheral positions of the member 11. |
